Quick answers
What grade scale does this use?
Standard US 4.0 scale: A/A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, F = 0.0. Some schools use slightly different scales (a few give A+ a 4.3) — check your school's official policy if you need an exact match.
How is weighted GPA calculated?
Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours to get "quality points." All quality points are summed and divided by total credit hours. A 4-credit A (4.0) counts more than a 1-credit A, which is why higher-credit courses affect your GPA more.
How do I combine this with my existing GPA?
Enter your current cumulative GPA and total credit hours earned so far in the card above. The calculator treats your prior GPA as if it were one large course worth that many credits, then blends it with the new courses to give your updated overall GPA.
