Your privacy,
plainly explained

The short version

There are no accounts or logins. The calculators and converters run in your browser, and what you type into them is not sent to our servers or stored. We use Google Analytics to see which tools get used, and Google AdSense to show ads that help pay for the site.

What we collect

• Usage data (Google Analytics). Pages visited, approximate location (city or region level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This uses cookies or similar technology.
• Server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard logs such as IP address, browser, and request time for security and operations.
• Information you choose to send. If you email us or submit our Google Form (bug report, tool idea, newsletter interest), we receive what you provide, such as your email address and message. We use it only to respond or to send updates you asked for.

Tools that contact outside services

• VIN Decoder: the VIN you enter is sent to the U.S. NHTSA vPIC public API to look up vehicle specifications.
• Currency Converter: your browser requests daily exchange rates from the Frankfurter API.
• QR Code Generator: loads a code library from the Cloudflare CDN (cdnjs). The QR code itself is created in your browser.

Like any website, these services can see your IP address when your browser contacts them. All other tools calculate locally.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we use a Google-certified consent message so you can choose how your data is used for ads. We don't control the cookies set by third-party advertisers.

Cookies

Analytics and advertising partners may set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools will still work, though ads may be less relevant.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, the EEA, or the UK), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold, to have it deleted, or to object to certain uses. The personal information we hold is generally limited to messages or form submissions you sent us. Email diy9lives@gmail.com and we'll respond. We don't sell personal information. Advertising partners may process data as described above, and you can control that through the opt-out links in the advertising section.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
