Why ingredient matters
1 cup of flour weighs about 120g, but 1 cup of honey weighs about 340g. Volume converters that ignore this give you wrong weights for anything except water.

How you measure flour changes its weight — spooned-and-leveled flour is lighter than scooped-and-packed. This tool assumes the spooned method, standard in most modern recipes.
These are standard approximations, not brand-specific. If a recipe gives both a volume and a gram weight, trust the gram weight — it's always more precise.
